Tips and Hints

Battery powering a room box...

Apply two copper strips* side by side.

Attach N sized battery holder** with double faced tape.

Cut the red and black wires to fit as shown.

Bare the ends of the red and black wires about 1/4".

Attach the ends of the wires to the copper tape. One on one side and one on the other.

It is best to solder but not vital. Scotch tape can be used but is not as permanent.

After inserting the bulb wires in the ceiling hole...

Tape the wires down on the top to hold in place and to prevent the bulb from coming out of the top.

Cut the white wires to the length that will reach the copper strips with a bit of room to spare. See above.

Attach the ends of the wires to the copper tape. One on one side and one on the other.

DO NOT SOLDER. The bulb will eventually burn out and if soldered cannot be replaced as easily.

Scotch tape in place.

A 12 volt battery is used to power the bulb.

Duracell A23 is a 12 volt battery used for car alarms and smoke alarms.

Insert the battery when you want to display the lighting in the room box.

An inline switch can be used as an alternate to removing the battery.

*5/8' copper tape is found at stained glass stores.
**Found at Radio Shack
